Donkey hiking from Malga Zanga to Monte Creino, in the mountains with special friends.
Itinerary 6.5 km – Duration 3 h – Elevation gain 300 m ↑ 300 m ↓
Have you ever thought of taking your children trekking… with donkeys? It is a wonderful experience! Together with our guides and an expert, all together we will go to Monte Creino. But not before getting to know our donkey friends and not before preparing them properly: They love to be brushed!
The children can jump on and ride them. We are now ready to discover this area surrounded by nature and immersed in fascinating stories!
Our meeting point is at Malga Zanga, where you will experience real mountain air and warm hospitality. The children with their families can play with the donkeys while they get ready, and enjoy a coffee inside the farmhouse.
Some of us riding, some of us on foot, we will hike along the easy mule track uphill towards S.Barbara, where we let our donkeys take a drink of water.
Now there is a beautiful section through green countryside, the view opens up and we finally see the mountains surrounding us. Monte Creino is situated at 1260m of altitude and it is easy to reach with donkeys all the way to the top, where we will stop off for a pic-nic. Once we tie up the donkeys we will be able to discover the tunnels and trenches dating back to the First World War.
We will then return to Malga Zanga back along the same route.
Meeting point: 8.30 - Malga Zanga: Strada Provinciale Del Monte Velo, 3 - Arco
