Le Marmitte dei Giganti - Nago

These wells, originally glacial, are formed by the melting waters of the glacier, that precipitating in the crevasses provoked a whirling flow of cobblestones that slowly eroded the rock. The Marmitte dei Giganti match with other glacial monuments in the area, like the glacial drop, the roche moutonnée, veined and smoothened. The main wells are near the panoramic road, overlooking the Lake Garda, connecting Nago and Torbole. In the prehistoric period they were inhabited, as the findings of some arrow-heads and ceramic pieces, dating back to IV and III  millennium B.C., testify.
