It's your day, enjoy it!
There are numerous petrified marine organisms to be found on both Mt. Brione - the high plateau with its characteristic arched shape that rises in isolation from the plain of the river Sarca - and in the Baldo range. The calcareous rock of Mt. Brione was formed on the bed of the sea that once covered the whole area: for this reason it is relatively easy to find fossils and other fossilized objects. The same variety characterizes Mt. Baldo, a real "permanent exhibition" of rocks, minerals and fossils. Both are protected areas: Mt. Brione forms part of the province’s biotopes and the area of Bes-Corna Piana, in the Trento section of the Baldo range, is a nature reserve.
